March Break fun at home

You might be overwhelmed thinking of how to keep your kids from saying “I’m bored” this March Break, but with a few creative ideas the kids can have a blast staying home. There are so many easy and fun ideas you can discover online. Here are a few ideas to keep the kids entertained.

The first thing to do is stock up on supplies for the week. Plan your activities ahead of time, and head to the dollar store or grocery store and get everything you need so you are all set for fun.

Science experiments are a great way to keep the kids entertained, and they will be learning at the same time! Look up some recipes online. Try growing rock candy in a glass, learn about surface tension by dropping food colouring into milk and watch as the colours move around as you add some dish soap. Or, who doesn't love slime - mix Borax with glue!

Craft projects are also a guaranteed hit. Try putting a paper plate and some paint in a salad spinner to create spin art or try out some Origami with tons of patterns to choose from online.

Get in the kitchen for some baking or cooking together. Make homemade ice cream in a bag by shaking salt, ice, cream, and sugar vigorously until the consistency is right. Make a fun lunch with animal shaped sandwiches or heart shaped pizza. And it’s always fun to do some classic baking and decorating of your favourite treats!

Have a relaxing home spa day - soak those toes and do each other’s nails with some fancy nail art. Whip up a face mask too!

Have the kids use their imaginations and create a play or make a movie.

If the weather cooperates the kids can have some fun in the backyard as well. Create a scavenger hunt and get them discovering spring!

There are many ways to stay entertained at home when you start getting creative!
